EXODUS GEOHAGHON: Ex back on the beat

1 month ago By OL 2

No-nonsense defender back to make his mark...

THERE’S a familiar face back amongst the Boro back-line after Exodus Geohaghon returned for his third spell at the club.
“I was disappointed not to be offered anything during the summer, to be honest,” admitted the 32 year-old. “But the Gaffer decided to look elsewhere and I respect that.
“We’ve stayed in touch, though, and I was only too happy to return when the call came.
“At the start of the season I was expecting to concentrate more on coaching and I had a few offers, but I went to Stafford Rangers, got a run of games and started enjoying my football again, so that is where I see my priority for the rest of this season at least.
“Obviously as a footballer you want to play at the highest level possible, so it’s good to be back playing in The National League North again.
“The Gaffer wants me to get amongst the boys and use my experience to help them. It’s quite a young group here and with the skipper [Kelvin Langmead] out for longer than expected, it needs a vocal presence in there, which is what I will provide.
“It’s a similar situation to what I came into last season, so hopefully I can help us starting moving up the table.
“This is an environment that I am familiar with and I want to help the club move forward and win games so that we can get the buzz back around the place again. Nothing beats winning matches and hopefully we can return to winning ways at the weekend.
“It won’t be easy because Darlington are always tough opponents. Everyone is capable of beating each other in this League and it’s about what we do rather than worrying about others.
“We know that we have to tighten up defensively; we’re good going forward and will always score goals, but we need to be able to give ourselves a solid foundation.
“It showed at Blyth last weekend where we could have easily scored six or seven goals yet we also ended up conceding six and that needs to be addressed if we are to start building some momentum and getting on a run of positive results.
“From what I have seen so far, there is enough talent here, it just needs a bit more experience out there on the field.”
