2 weeks ago By OL 2

Nuneaton town suffered defeat at the hands of spennymoor town in Dino Maamria’s first home game in charge as manager.

A late Glen Taylor goal was enough for the three points in a game where Nuneaton created opportunities but could not convert when it mattered.

Even when Boro did find the net, the goal was ruled out for an infringement inside the penalty area.

Ashley chambers and Jordan Nicholson both had chances either side of the interval but ssw these efforts go the wrong side of the woodwork.

Before Leon lobjoit came closest for the boro, with his left footed curling effort whistling just wide of the post.

The games pivotal moment came 6 moments from time, as a low David foley cross was neatly flicked home by Glenn Taylor to ensure the three points went to the north east side.

Maamria will be disappointed with the outcome, but spoke post match about pride in his players display.

Boro will be looking to bounce back in their next fixture where they travel to Chorley, as they aim will to respond to today’s defeat.
