PREVIEW: Boro looking to build

6 months ago By OL 2

Boro back at home with the visit of Stockport County on Saturday...

BORO are back on home soil for the second Saturday in succession as we take on Stockport County (kick-off 3.00pm).
Having beaten Darlington to return to winning ways last weekend, we’ll be looking to add to our points tally and continue our climb up the League table.
“Stockport’s recent results have been disappointing, but I am sure that Jim Gannon will turn it around,” said Boro boss, Tommy Wright. “He’s been around the game a long time and is a legend in his own right at that football club.
“As for ourselves, I thought that we put in our most complete performance of the season in the victory over Darlington last weekend.
“We’ve set our standards now and we know that we have to turn in this kind of display on a consistent basis.
“The lads worked tirelessly in the last game and it was nice to see the appreciation of the fans at the end.
“We’ll be looking to build on it with another winning display, although we’re well aware of the threats that our visitors possess.”
County go into the game in the middle of the table having lost five of our seven League games on the road so far this term. They will be keen to get back on track having suffered a home defeat at the hands of new-boys, Blyth Spartans, last weekend.
We’re expecting our visitors to bring a large and vocal following, so we want to see as many of you as possible turn up to give Tommy and the players the support and backing that they deserve.
