Boss ready for the Nantwich Town challenge...
BORO are back on the Emirates FA Cup trail on Saturday with a third qualifying round tie at Nantwich Town (kick-off 3.00pm).
Tommy Wright was at Stafford Rangers on Tuesday evening to see them succumb to their third straight defeat with a 3-0 loss to leave them in the lower reaches of the Evo-Stick Northern Premier table.
They have won just once at home in the League this season, whilst they beat City of Liverpool 2-1 away in the first qualifying round and then overcame the challenge of Shepshed Dynamo by one goal to nil in the previous round.
“It’s fair to say that their form has dipped recently,” said Wright. “I’ve watched them a couple of times recently and they lost both games, but I am sure that they will come out fighting on Saturday.
“Form tends to go out of the window in this competition anyway, it will all be down to which team wants it the most.
“We did a professional job against King’s Lynn Town in the last round and we seem to be turning a corner now.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to show the same attitude to get the job here. It’ll be a tough test for us but I have every faith in the lads to get us through.
“We want the excitement of a Cup run and the feel-good factor that it generates not only for the club but the town as a whole.”
Callum Ball is rated as 50/50, whilst Kelvin Langmead has suffered a set-back in his bid to regain fitness. Everyone else is fit and available.
Come and show your support as we look to make it into Monday’s draw for the fourth qualifying round.
