Elliott began by explaining the changes under Maamria.
“Training has been tough I'm not going to lie. We've been doing double sessions most days, but what we've done is a lot of good work.”
“We've been working on the defence to try and stop conceding goals and hopefully nick a few up front, because we know we are capable of scoring goals.”
The midfielder believes this added workload showed last Saturday against Spennymoor.
“You could tell on Saturday we were all fitter, we were all more alert. Getting the ball back off the opposition straight away. The sessions must be paying off.”
“I do bits at home. I have my own personal training session weekly, but I do the same as all the lads, focusing on my role in the team. Doing what I can for the team.”
This weekend sees Boro travel to Chorley, with the camp in high spirits.
“We are all looking forward to it. We will go there ready and we will know how they play, know there shape. We know a lot about them, having seen them against Fleetwood on Monday.”
“We've got to go into it and play our game, because when we are on form I don't think many teams in this league can stop us.”
