Core Education Programme

Playing for Success (PfS) is the core education programme at the Nuneaton Town Community Foundation. It is a national initiative set up by the DfES in 1997 to help improve standards of literacy, numeracy and ICT. It also helps to increase pupil motivation to learn by raising self confidence along with self esteem.

The ‘Playing for Success’ phenomena has grown enormously and there are now 160 different study support centres around the country which operate from a range of sporting venues such as Football, Cricket and Rugby, amongst others.

Our centre was officially opened in April 2009 by World Cup legend Geoff Hurst and is situated at The Triton Showers Community Arena. The PfS suite consists of 16 PC’s as well as video recorders and plasma TV.
