ASHLEY CHAMBERS: Missed chances cost us

7 months ago By OL 2

Front-man confident the goals will flow...

BORO put in an impressive attacking display against Alfretown Town, but it was our failure to take our chances that was the difference between picking up one point and all three.
“It was a very good performance,” admitted Ashley Chambers, who picked up the Man of the Match award. “Everything was there apart from the end product and there are five or six of us who had good chances to get our names onto the scoresheet.
“We created a lot of opportunities but we were not ruthless enough and that was the difference.
“It’s good that we are creating so much and we are confident that it will all start to fall into place sooner rather than later.
“We’re all disappointed that we didn’t get the three points, but the games come thick and fast and we have an opportunity to rectify it on Tuesday against AFC Telford.
“I was pleased with my own performance; it’s nice to be in decent form but I am a striker and I want to score goals, so hopefully I can help us get all three points on Tuesday."
Come and join us here at the LDJ Solicitors Stadium as we take on an AFC Telford United side that sit just one place and one point above us in the table (kick-off 7.45pm).
They slipped to their fourth consecutive home defeat of the season at the hands of Blyth Spartans on Saturday, but it is on their travels where they have picked up all nine of their points so far.
