Wright aims to extend unbeaten run as we entertain Alfreton Town...
BORO are back on home soil on Saturday as we take on Alfreton Town (kick-off 3.00pm).
Just like ourselves, our opponents have seen a large influx of new faces during the summer as well as a new man at the helm in John McDermott as they look to make their mark on the Vanarama National League North.
They chalked up a 4-0 triumph over Curzon Ashton on Monday to give them their third win in seven League games to date.
“John McDermott is a manager that I know well as he was assistant manager during my short spell at Harrogate Town,” said Boro boss, Tommy Wright. “He’s a man that knows his football and has put together a good squad.
“They will come here full of confidence following a convincing win in their last game, but we’re in good spirits following our games over the Bank Holiday weekend.
“I couldn’t have asked for any more from the lads against Leamington; everything clicked into place and we looked impressive all over the pitch.
“We were somewhat patched up for the trip to Boston United, but we went there and gave it our all in extremely hot conditions.
“It was quite even, both teams had chances and it looked like we had nicked it right at the end. It was disappointing to concede from a set-piece in stoppage time and we ended up feeling as though it was two points dropped rather than one gained.
“That said, it’s two games undefeated and it gives us an opportunity to put a run of results together.
“We’ve got two successive home games and we’ll be looking to make it count, even though we’ll face two stern challenges.”
