Nuneaton Town 2-2 North Ferriby United
First half goals from George Green and Daniel Nti were not enough as North Ferriby United came from behind twice to deny The Boro' a belated winning start to March.
Green opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute, converting a Ryan Beswick corner from the edge of the box with a stunning strike into the top left corner.
Ferriby hit back against the run of play though, as towering centre half Jack Mail nestled a header into the back of the net. Nuneaton are a side on the up at the moment and they showed why when Nti gave them the lead once again as he simply side footed into an empty net after some good work by Ashley Chambers.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first but the home side were unable to make that superiority count though, something they paid the price for with 15 minutes to play. A mix up at the back by Nuneaton allowed AJ George to nip in on goal where he was clipped before he could pull the trigger.
Referee, Alex Kirkley, had no choice but to point to the spot and Bobby Johnson stepped up and sent it low, and past, Russ Etheridge, only just, as Ferriby clawed themselves back into the game. Dino Maamria's side laid siege to the visitors' goal but couldn't find a way through as The Villagers held on to claim a hard fought point at the LDJ Solicitors Stadium.
Nuneaton extended their unbeaten streak to nine games and will attempt to reach double-figures as they travel to, Warwickshire rivals, Leamington on Saturday. Our next home game is on Tuesday the 20th of March against Walsall in the quarter-final of the Birmingham Senior Cup. Come along and take advantage of the reduced ticket prices to see if the Boro' can advance to the semis.
